“Our Ocean: Basis for Blue Economy”

Noo Raajjé
MAIN STAGE Day 1 evening program 28th April

Blue Economy refers to the sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth, improved livelihoods and jobs, and ocean ecosystem health. Although the term “Blue Economy” may sound unfamiliar, the practice is not new to the Maldives. Maldivians have long been on the forefront of the Blue Economy as a leader in sustainable fisheries and tourism.

The short film “Our Ocean” will feature leaders in fisheries, tourism, marine protection, and the communities who are working for a more sustainable ocean future in the Maldives. It will also explore the potential for innovative sustainable technologies and how the nation can become the world’s first smart ocean state.

The full film will be shown for the first time exclusively at the Maldives Coral Festival at MNU Seenu Hithadhoo Campus. Don’t miss the chance to get a first look at this film celebrating Maldivian economic tradition and innovation.

The film was produced by @nooraajje in collaboration with @presidencymv, @mofmramv, and @waittinstitute.
